Rumba Syllabus Figures 1-9

Rumba and Cha Cha Cha share a number of figures but instead of the chasse in Cha Cha Cha, rumba makes a step at 4 and hold it through the beat 4 and 1.

A few points to note before making steps:
* sink the weight to the floor at the bone action but at the same time stretch the torso so the form is not collapsed


* holding beat 1 normally means no step, however, movements like settling hips and making turns are usually needed

* apart from keeping legs straight, toes should be pointed and turned out
